LOVE HARRY POTTER? LOVED THE WIZARDING WORLD? LOVE READING? This is the PERFECT Readathon challenge for you!! I have wanted to try doing this challenge since I saw it last year and I am SO SO excited to be participating in the 2020 #magicalreadathon.
WHAT IS HECK IS THE O.W.L’s MAGICAL READATHON?
The Magical Readathon hosted by BookRoast is basically a play on Harry Potter’s wizarding exams, the O.W.L’S and the N.E.W.T’S. There are 12 reading prompts for each subject. If you are participating you can choose a career from the Wizarding Careers guide provided by BookRoast and the guide lets you know what exams (reading prompts) you need to do in order to pass the exams and take a step towards the career you want!!
BookRoast has a big introductory post on her YouTube, so if you want to learn more head over there!
SO basically its an awesome harry potter based Readathon that pushes you out of your comfort zone!!
WHY AM I PARTICIPATING?
I heard about these readathons last year but knew NOTHING about them so I didn’t bother to do it until this year I saw that bookswithchloe on YouTube was doing it so I looked into it and I LOVED the idea!! It’s catered to fit everyone so I thought it would be a good idea to break me from my slump!
It is also mainly because of this isolation period that I think it’s easy to enter and read with all this extra time!
MY WIZARD CAREER
I chose the SEER career. I love all things witchy so thought this was great and it only had THREE exams (aka three books to read) so I thought it was right up my alley. I was going to go Spellmaker but last minute decided on Seer. The prompts are a little harder but fun!!
The O.W.L exams for this are:
- Ancient Runes (book with a heart on cover or in the title)
- Divination (random number generator to pick from TBR)
- Astronomy (reading majority of the book at night)
MY O.W.L TBR
Divination – Six of Crows
Astronomy – Kingdom of Ash
I will be doing an O.W.L’s Readathon Vlog on my YouTube once I complete it!! So please stay tuned!!
Thank you so much for reading!! Are the participating this year? If so, what career have you decided on and why? Comment below!
