Review: A Court of Wings and Ruin

FINALLY A SARAH J MAAS POST after my 7 months of blog construction which has actually been total procrastination.

A Court of Wings and Ruin is absolutely fantastic, it brings me to my knees with its glory. It’s just so full of magic and diversity and is everything I love in a book. (Although ACOMAF is still my love but you know)

I preordered this book before it came out this year and as soon as I got it, it was finished in a matter of days, like it was insane how much I read with school and work going on (let’s just say I was pretty darn proud of myself) Then I had a MASSIVE 6 MONTH book slump. It was utterly ridiculous but I reread this and now I have to say the slump is GONE FOREVER, I couldn’t be happier. (But my boyfriend is getting annoyed at his loss of attention from me as I am reading hehe)

Anyways onto the review!!!

A Court of Wings and Ruin is so beautifully crafted and it dug me firmly into the epic fantasy genre and other things closely related (ToG amiright?)

Let’s start with those damn characters, god I can’t contain myself right now, I just want to scream RHYSAND over and over again. But that’s highly impractical so I shall hold myself down with shackles.

My favourite characters would have to be … Rhysand and Mor, they are just so detailed and provide me with a sense of family and belonging in their world. They open their arms to anyone willing and don’t hold back their kindness (although they all have their ultra badass bad sides aka their epic Night Court disguises) ((which are kind of cool and absolutely awesome))

NOW ONTO THE PLOT. The cliffhanger from ACOMAF slid so perfectly to the beginning of ACOWAR. It took a while to readjust to the change in setting but after a couple pages the transition was immaculate. The whole plot was very interesting and each twist and turn led me deeper into Prythian and all the courts and territories. The inclusion of characters outside of the main story plot was a great bonus and made the world feel even more realistic with everchanging characters and stories.

I highly recommend to anyone wanting to read high fantasy or someone wanting to escape reality. This series would have to be my all time favourite and Sarah J Maas is definitely my favourite author, due to her way of words and her attention to detail! I wish I could give it 1639373937/5 stars but I’ll just have to settle with 5/5 stars sadly!

You can buy the FABULOUS book here!:
